Climate-wise, South Carolina has hot and humid summers, and mild winters.
As states go, South Carolina is rather small, with a diverse and interesting population and attractions. The state can be divided into three main regions: The coastal and “low country”, the piedmont, and, of course, the Appalachian Mountain range.
Each region has it’s own major metropolitan area:
Charleston, reflecting 300 years of southern heritage, is on the coast.
Colombia, named after Christopher Columbus, and the state capital, is located in the Piedmont region.
Greenville/Spartnburg is situated in the mountains.
Each of these cities has its own appeal, and are definitely worthy of your time, but for me, anyway, the smaller towns and rural areas hold the most interest.
From the beaches on the Atlantic coast, through the critter-infested swamps, the natural scenery and the historic sites, South Carolina is an ideal RV destination. You will find vibrant towns and sleepy villages - and as for RV parks, South Carolina has a lot to offer - so just scroll down for a list of RV parks, South Carolina.
